The only way to truly know your tongue weight while loading is to spend $100 on a Sure Line Tongue scale (http://www.discountcampus.com/cgi-bin/webc.exe/store/st_main.html?catid=1102).
I plan on weighing the trailer empty if/when we get it. Fully load it and weigh it again. Then will see if heavier hitch is needed.
I towed a FSC3200 loaded correctly and was right at 10%-11% tongue weight and so can you, that is assuming you have toys to load in the rear.
Yup we have 3 full size sport ATV's, Yam Raptor 700, Hon 400EX and A Suz 400Z. What are you hauling in your for comparison?
Totally empty my trailer was was tongue heavy.
That's normal isn't it?
You will need to also know total loaded trailer weight so you can figure your 10%, any truck stop can help you there.
If you get a scale get the 0-5000 lb scale that way you never need to upgrage like I just did.
That's the plan. Empty and loaded. Getting the scale you mentioned may make it easier to play with the loading so I don't have to make a trip to the cat scales every time.

WW told me that the damage was a function of leaving the WD bars on while going over the whoop-de-dos for the off-road guys. They advised just loosening the bars for those situations.
Is that the real reason, or just their excuse? I thought that was the whole point of a WD hitch. To help with the load.
Just be aware that the tongue weight will be around 2,000lbs loaded for a trip.
2000 lbs, Holy Cow. My truck, an 05' F350 is rated for 1250 lbs tongue weight. SO how does that work?

Hmmmm.
Got to wondering and looked at my current toy hauler and it has only 1/8" thick metal on the tongue.
So why were/are the WW's having so many issues? Is it because the tongue weights are heavier than advertised?

Is the 30FS the same as the FS 3000? Or was there a model change with the years?
Is there a time limit to getting the "fix" done?
If WW is closing its doors, which it sounds like it has, who performs the "fix"?

Buying a 2007 Weekend Warrior 30FS
I'm getting ready to sign the papers on a used 2007 WW 30FS. This unit seems to be in very good shape and we are getting a good deal on it. (We think).
To the best of my "limited" knowledge this model is not involved with the Weekend Warrior fiasco, but I want to get a direct input from the more "In the Know Crowd".
First of all, is this model involved? Any thing special I should look for during the PDI, or should we just run away?
I did a quick look over when we first looked at it and didn't notice anything that jumped out at me. Looks like it has been used very little and the Gen has only about 137 hrs on it.
Before we sign we will make sure every thing works of course.
The only real issue, if you want to call it an issue, is there is no ladder for roof access. The dealer said they would get one, but if they back peddle, where can I get a ladder to fit this model?

Adding a lift allows not only for taller tires but also wider tires.
Wider Tires = More Floatation, which is REALLY important on sand.

but don't want to sacrifice my towing capabilities and fuel mileage.
I here you on sacrificing.
Thankfully I only lost about 1-3 mpg normal driving and surprisingly, I still get the same as I did befor the lift towing, I do suppose it could be to the fact that I did SLOW down and take a little more time getting there.
My truck isn't a daily driver per say, I usally ride the motorcycle to work and back. So that helps.
I still love it lifted, and wouldn't go back.

What do you tow with your LIFTED truck?
I have an opportunity to get a used 2007 Weekend Warrior CR3905 fifth wheel toy hauler. But I know with my lift and tires now I dont think it will be an option. My bed rail height is aroung 64 inches now with a 8 inch lift and riding on 37s and the trailer comes in at 67ish with flipped axles. So no dice.
So got me to wondering how many of you out there tow with a lifted PU. What size lift? Tires size? And a pic if ya got em.
I Know, I Know, lifted trucks don't make good tow vehicles, BLAA BLAA BLAA...thats not the topic here. :B

I like mine. I have the intake and exhaust. Gave me an increse of about 1-3 mpg, that is if you can keep you foot out of it. Love the sound of the exhaust.
